About the role
As a Social Media Strategist for Facebook, you'll run GradIntent's Facebook from start to finish: researching what to post, creating it, producing it, and managing the process of getting it posted. GradIntent will set the goals. How you reach them is up to you. Facebook is where GradIntent talks to parents and families, and this role owns that channel. You'll work directly with our founder, who reviews your work and gives feedback every week, and alongside other interns across social media, content, web and tech.
What you'll do
1. Brand kit (with the social media team)
- Receive a brand brief together with the other social media strategists
- Build GradIntent's brand kit as a team: the colours, fonts and templates that make our posts look like GradIntent
- Use this kit across all your Facebook content
2. Research
- Study what parents look for and engage with on Facebook: what kinds of posts, topics and questions matter to them, and when to post
- Look at similar education and parenting pages to find gaps GradIntent can fill
- Turn what you find into topics to post about and post ideas
3. Content creation
- Plan a weekly content calendar of posts, videos and event updates
- Write clear, helpful posts that answer the questions parents have about careers and university
- Turn GradIntent's original content into Facebook posts for a parent audience
- Create posts that promote GradIntent's events and webinars
4. Content production
- Design posts using the brand kit
- Create and edit short videos
5. Planning and tracking
- Manage the content calendar from idea to draft, review and scheduled post
- Submit finished posts for GradIntent's approval, then schedule them. Every post is approved before it goes live.
- Draft replies to comments and questions, for approval before they're posted
- Track how many people see and interact with your posts every week, and use the numbers to improve what's next
Throughout: work with other interns, sharing ideas with the social media team and coordinating with the Content team on launches of GradIntent's original content.
What you'll deliver
- A published Facebook content portfolio, credited to you, with real numbers showing how your posts did
- A working content calendar and process that GradIntent keeps using after the program
