About the role
As a Finance & Pricing Analyst, you'll study how education companies price their services, and use what you find to help GradIntent make smarter pricing decisions. GradIntent will set the goals. How you reach them is up to you. You'll work with publicly available information (anything companies share openly, such as on their websites), turning research and numbers into clear recommendations. You'll work directly with our founder, who reviews your work and gives feedback every week, and alongside other interns across social media, content, web and tech.
What you'll do
Example questions you might work on
- Pricing: How do other education companies price career guidance, and how do their prices compare?
- Packages: How do other companies bundle their services, and what's included at each price?
- New ideas: Using estimated numbers, what might a new service cost to run, and how many customers would it need to break even (earn back what it cost)?
These are just ideas. You can explore your own.
1. Research
- Find education companies that offer services similar to GradIntent's
- Collect publicly available information on what they offer and what they charge
2. Benchmarking
- Compare prices, packages and what's included across companies
- Build a benchmark (a side-by-side comparison) that shows where each company sits
3. Financial models
- Build simple financial models (a set of calculations that shows what might happen under different choices) using estimated numbers
- Test different prices and scenarios to see what works best
4. Analysis and recommendations
- Turn your benchmark and models into clear recommendations
- Present your findings to GradIntent's founder
5. Keeping it current
- Update your benchmark when companies change their prices or offers
- Note new pricing trends in the education market
Throughout: work with other interns, especially the Business Growth Consultant, who can use your benchmark when exploring new ideas.
