About the role
As an Education Policy Researcher, you'll follow changes in education policy, exams, admissions and school curriculum, work out what they mean for students, families and schools, and turn them into clear explainers that anyone can understand. GradIntent will set the goals. How you reach them is up to you. This role is about reading carefully, checking facts and explaining complicated decisions in plain words. You'll work directly with our founder, who reviews your work and gives feedback every week, and alongside other interns across social media, content, web and tech.
What you'll do
Example topics you might work on
- What a change in national education policy means for students choosing their subjects
- How changes to university entrance exams affect students preparing for them
- How different school boards and countries approach career guidance
These are just ideas. You can propose your own.
1. Track
- Follow announcements from government bodies, exam boards and universities
- Keep a policy tracker (a running list of changes and when they take effect)

- Check facts using reliable sources, and note where each fact comes from
3. Analysis
- Work out what each change means for students, families and schools
- Choose which changes matter most to GradIntent's audience
4. Content creation
- Write clear explainers, articles and short summaries in plain words
- Work with the Content Writer and the Social Media Strategist for LinkedIn to publish and share them
5. Publishing and tracking
- Submit finished explainers for GradIntent's approval. Everything is approved before it's published.
- Track how many people read and share your work, and use the numbers to improve what's next
Throughout: work with other interns, especially the Content Writer and social media team, who help your explainers reach the right people.
What you'll deliver
- At least three published policy explainers, credited to you
- A policy tracker that GradIntent can keep using after the program
